About Cunnies Gummies

What is Creatine and how does it work?

Creatine is a naturally occurring non-protein amino acid, it is found in small amounts in some animal products ie. red meat and fish. Creatine is combined with an energy phosphate group to create “Creatine Phosphate” in the body which is stored in our muscles and is used to produce energy during exercise. This energy production supports greater intensity and strength output during sessions, which can improve training outcomes!

What is the recommended dose for Creatine and is a loading phase necessary?

Creatine breaks down during exercise, so the purpose of supplementation is to keep your muscles “saturated” which helps to provide longer lasting energy during training. This “saturation” is much easier to achieve with supplementation as it can be very difficult to meet this level through diet alone.

As a maintenance dose, we recommend consuming 3-5g per day. A loading phase refers to consuming a larger dose ie. 20-25g/day for a short period (typically 5-7 days) with the aim of saturating your muscles with creatine before moving to a maintenance dose. This just means you would receive the benefits of creatine faster as your stores would reach “saturation” quicker. However, this isn’t necessarily a better option as some may experience some GI discomfort.

Will Creatine Gummies cause weight gain?

A common side effect that can occur with creatine supplementation is “weight gain” and/or bloating. This is due to the body holding onto more intracellular water. It is important to understand that this is not “fat gain” if calories are controlled, this is due to water retention and lean muscle tissue (if training stimulus is well structured).

Can I take Creatine Gummies while breastfeeding or pregnant?

We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider before using any supplements during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. While creatine is a naturally occurring compound, there is currently limited research on the safety of creatine supplementation during pregnancy and breastfeeding. For this reason, it's best to seek personalised medical advice before use.
